Pole Vector Control placement in Maya

What for :

To do a pole vector constraint without changing the joint values

Abstract :

Determine the place to keep the pole vector icon using curve normal.

Step 1 :

Create a linear curve (curve degree =1) by snapping on the three joints
of the arm.

 

Step 2 :Select the middle control vertex of the curve
and select move tool and change the move setting to normal, now translate
the ‘n’ normal

like this :

Step 3 :Change the Move tool setting back to object
mode, Now snap the icon to the CV, Now create the
pole vector constraint without disturbing the joint values
